RITA DAHNKE HOBBS WILLIAMS Sept. 11, 1947 - Sept. 16, 1995
1975: (Mrs. Ron Hobbs), 1619 California Ave., Iowa City, IA Rita is a housewife and is busy raising her family, babysitting, and doing volunteer work at her children's school. She is married to Ron Hobbs and they have two children: Ronnie, age 9, and Rachelle, age 6.
1985: Rita is a Teacher's Aide at South East Junior High. She has two children, Ronald Jr. (18) and Rachelle (16). In her spare time, she enjoys basketball games and going to auctions. Rita also enjoys doing calligraphy. Her address is 1619 California Avenue, Iowa City, IA
Rita Diane Hobbs Williams, 48, of 447 Samoa Drive, died of cancer Saturday, Sept. 16, 1995, at Mercy Hospital.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the First Presbyterian Church with burial in Memory Gardens Cemetery. The Rev Tom Brown will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Donohue-Lensing funeral home. A memorial fund has been established.
Mrs. Williams was born Sept. 11, 1947, in Iowa City to Robert “Speed” and Edith (Evans) Dahnke. She was a graduate of Iowa City High School and attended Kirkwood Community College. She married Reginald Williams on June 8, 1994 in Las Vegas. She was a receptionist at University Hospitals for Project Art in the Department of Patient and Guest Relations. Before that she was a receptionist at the University of Iowa Physical Plant and has also been a teachers’ aide in the Iowa City Community School District. She was a lifelong Iowa City resident and member of First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her husband, one son and his wife, Ron L. and Emily Hobbs of Coralville; one daughter and her husband, Rachelle Y and Ron Flake Jr. of Lone Tree; one brother and his wife, Bob and Cindi Dahnke of North Liberty; her father and stepmother, Robert “Speed” and Rosemary Dahnke of Iowa City; and twin grandsons. Her mother and grandparents died earlier.
