Audrey Thumma, 60, passed away Sunday, Dec 16, 2007 at Austell, Georgia. Audrey was born April 15, 1947 in Davenport, Iowa, the youngest child of Wilbur Eugene McWane and Vivian Floy Wooldridge. Her parents ran the Dairy Queen on Riverside Drive in Iowa City for many years. Audrey started working there when she was eight years old and continued on even after marriage.

She married Joseph William Matthess, June 28, 1968 in San Diego, California while he was on leave from Vietman. To them were born four children; Joseph, Rebecka, Michelle and Jennifer. They divorced in 1982.

Audrey married Scott Matthew Thumma November 26, 1982 in Ottumwa, Iowa. They celebrated 25 years together. Audrey was diagnosed with COPD in 1998 and fought for 9 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Glenn McWane and her son, Joseph William Matthess, Jr. Those left to mourn are three daughters; Becky (Mark) Wurr of Tipton, Iowa; Shelly (S.R.) Sidhu of Dallas, Georgia; Jenny (Daniel Ponce) Matthess of Fairfield, Iowa; one niece, Kim Friese; one nephew, Scott McWane; 11 grandchildren, one step grandchild and 3 step great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Audrey will be Saturday, December 22 at 10:30 am, Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. Burial will follow in Tipton Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 7 pm Fry Funeral Home
