Dennis J. Schulze , 52, of 1223 Highland Ave., died Saturday morning, June 13, 1998, in his home after a sudden illness.

Services will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Iowa City with Rev. David Hitch officiating.  Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.   Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service where a Parish Vigil Service will be at 7 p.m.  Memorials made be made to the Helen Lemme School c/o Iowa City Community School District Foundation. 

Mr. Schultz was born on March 20, 1946, in Keosauqua, to Joseph Martin and Mary Ann (Szaywa) Schulze.  He graduated from City High School in 1965.   He worked for the University of Iowa in the Pharmacology Department and later in housekeeping.   He was currently working as a custodian at Helen Lemme Elementary School in Iowa City where he was employed for the past 27 years.   He was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church and the Service Employees International Union Local No. 150.  He also was active in the Lemme Outdoor Education Program. 

Survivors include his mother and his sister, Betsy Ann Schulze, both of Iowa City.   His father died earlier.
