ROBERT LARRY MARTIN Born September 4, 1947 to Fred Martin Jr. and Helen Paige Martin in Corpus Christi, TX, passed March 16. 2011, at Veterans Administration Hospital, Iowa City, IA.

Bob, as he was affectionately called by friends and loved ones, attended the Iowa City First Church of the Nazarene where he accepted Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord at an early age. He graduated from Iowa City High School in 1965 following four years of recognition and commendations in football, basketball, and baseball. After matriculating one semester at the University of Iowa, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Following his discharge and return to Iowa City, he enrolled in and graduated from Kirkwood Community College's Electrician program.

Bob traveled throughout the US and Mexico in that capacity for nearly forty years before returning to Iowa City. At the time of his passing, Bob was a member of Local IBEW 332, San Jose, CA.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his mother, Helen Paige Martin and brother James (Jim) Martin, both of Iowa City, Iowa; and his sisters: Evelyn Morris, Lake Charles, LA; Roslyn Martin, Bastrop, TX; Dr. Marsha Martin, Oakland, CA; and Annette Martin, Washington, DC; Uncle U.L. Martin, Los Angeles CA; aunt, Daisy M. Gray, New York City; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Fred Martin Jr.; brother, Fred Thomas Martin; sister, Helen Ruth Martin; aunt, Ruth Taylor; and uncles: Robert Paige, Milton Taylor and Bobby Joe Hodge.
