Gary W. Eckley, 51, of 1097 Milstead Dr., died Saturday, Oct. 10, 1998, at his home. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, Cedar Rapids. Chaplain Connie May will officiate. Entombment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids, and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel. The casket will be closed at all times.

Survivors include his wife, Terri; two daughters, Courtney Ertl and husband William of Guttenberg and Morgan Eckley of Hiawatha; and a half sister, Jean Fortna of San Diego.

Gary was born Sept. 13, 1947, in Buffalo, N.Y., the son of Waldron and Izetta Frantz Eckley. Gary graduated from Iowa City High School in 1965.  He married Terri M. Hemmer on Aug. 17, 1974 in Cedar Rapids. Gary was the general manager and worked at Midland Forge for 31 years. He was a member of the Cedar Valley Street Rod Association and Elmcrest Country Club.
